Regina Joseph is my hostess for day four of the blog tour. She lives in Ohio, a practicing lawyer and respected author. A member of Rave Reviews Book Club she is an active participant. Thank you Regina for hosting me today.

When the artistic talent comes together and captures the essence of the book in the book cover, one has a successful and meaningful book cover. I have been so blessed to have two such great artists for designing the covers for my three books.

For my book, Outshine: An Ovarian Cancer Memoir, Jill Blum brought together the peaceful, powerful, and spiritual message of the book.  Though the book is about such a negative experience as cancer, the deeper message is how to outshine this or any other challenge in life.

Jay Monroe was the designer for Novy's Son, The Selfish Genius. Each chapter starts with a quote from Herman Melville's book Moby Dick, because I saw a parallel between Captain Ahab's troubled soul and that of Murray Clark. Their reasons were different, but the results were the same. The colors and turbulence of the water reflects perfectly what the main character's life was about.

My third book's cover shows serenity, love, and a spirituality which is so well shown in the bust of Davida. Once again, Mr. Monroe captured the beauty and mystery of this woman's life. Davida: Model & Mistress of Augustus Saint-Gaudens is based on the true story of the forbidden love affair between America's premier sculptor and his model.
